EXPLORE
Hiking
That sounds like a great idea! Exploring the game park on foot is a unique experience and allows for a closer encounter with the animals.
Just make sure to follow any safety guidelines provided by the resort and stay within designated areas to avoid disturbing the animals or putting yourself in danger.
Visiting the dam wall also serves as a lovely afternoon activity follwed by a picnic at the view point.
Just be sure to bring along any necessary supplies such as food, water, and sunscreen, and make sure to be back by sunset!
Request a trail map upon arrival.
Nature Drives
Both of these options sound like great ways to explore the beauty of Lake Oanob and its surroundings!
Booking a guided trip of approximately 1 hour to search for game and birds and enjoy the atmosphere of the lake and its scenery is a great way to get a taste of what the park has to offer.
Plus, having a guide who is knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife can provide a deeper understanding and appreciation for the natural surroundings. And of course, stopping at a scenic spot for a drink is a lovely way to enjoy the sunset and relax.
If you prefer a more independent adventure, taking your own 4x4 car and exploring the beautiful scenery and game park with the help of a map is a great option too.
This allows you to set your own pace and spend as much time as you like in areas that interest you most.
Just be sure to follow any rules and guidelines provided by the resort and stay on designated paths to avoid disturbing the animals or damaging the environment.
Water Activities
Fishing is available at Lake Oanob! Just remember to bring along your permit issued by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, as well as your own fishing equipment.
For smaller groups of up to 6 people, exploring the lake from a speed boat is a great way to fish and enjoy the scenery. The lake is well-stocked with fish, which in turn attracts a variety of water birds. However, due to the hidden rocks in the lake, it's important to have a driver from the resort to navigate the boat safely.
In addition to fishing the resort also offers a range of water activities for guests to enjoy by booking separately.
If you'd rather a calm sunrise paddle - Pull out the onsite kayak and take it for a spin. Just remember to make sure to store it safely after use.
